Support Indigenous Youth with Tim Hortons’ Orange Sprinkle Donut Initiative

We’re thrilled to join Tim Hortons’ Orange Sprinkle Donut initiative!

By buying an Orange Sprinkle Donut, you support Ulnooweg’s programs. These programs give Indigenous youth hands-on learning through STEAM education and cultural teachings. Your purchase helps us offer free camps where youth grow, heal, and build leadership skills while connecting with their culture and the land.

Why It Matters

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is a time to reflect on Canada’s residential school history and honour the survivors, their families, and the children who never returned home.

At Ulnooweg Education Centre, we look toward a brighter future for Indigenous youth. Our programs combine Indigenous knowledge with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) to help youth grow, heal, and develop leadership skills on the land.

What’s Included in Ulnooweg Education Centre’s programs:

  • Free camps including accommodations, meals, and travel
  • Mentorship from Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and industry professionals
  • STEAM-based activities rooted in cultural knowledge

I attended all three camps with Ulnooweg education this summer which provided great opportunities and was super fun! I think the orange donut campaign will bring great opportunities and funds for Indigenous communities and youth! It reminds us of how strong our Indigenous youth will become with all these opportunities and how the bonds between these youth at these camps grow stronger and stronger each year, which makes me so proud.

About the Orange Sprinkle Donut Campaign

The Orange Sprinkle Donut campaign was first developed in 2021 by a group of Indigenous Tim Hortons restaurant owners. Since then, it has raised over $3.6 million for Indigenous charities. On September 30th, 100% of proceeds from every donut sold will go to Indigenous charities across Canada.

This year, Ulnooweg Education Centre is proud to be one of the recipients. With your help, we can support even more Indigenous youth.

Organizations Supported:

  • Orange Shirt Society
  • Indian Residential School Survivors Society
  • Nouveaux Sentiers (New Pathways Foundation)

Frequently Asked Questions

Orange Shirt Day has been observed on September 30th since 2013, when Phyllis Webstad told her story of her first day of residential school. The movement raises awareness about Canada’s history of residential schools, along with honouring the survivors and their families and the children who never returned home.

In 2021, the federal government established the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

100% of proceeds from Tim Hortons’ Orange Sprinkle Donut sales support Indigenous charities, including Ulnooweg Education Centre! Funds received by Ulnooweg Education Centre will benefit our land-based learning programs for Indigenous youth.

Our summer programs blend Indigenous knowledge with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education, offering hands-on learning experiences with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and industry professionals. These programs are free and include accommodations, meals, and travel.

Thanks to the Orange Sprinkle Donut initiative, we look forward to engaging more youth, providing a space to grow, learn, and heal on the land, and helping them become tomorrow’s leaders.
