Summer Camps for Indigenous Youth

We offer unique camps that blend STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education with Indigenous teachings. These camps provide Indigenous youth in Atlantic Canada with immersive experiences alongside Elders, Knowledge Keepers, scientists, and industry professionals. They are completely free, with all accommodations, meals, and travel covered.

Designed for Indigenous youth in grades 10-12, Pre-Collegiate Camp offers a glimpse into post-secondary life. Participants stay in residence at Dalhousie University and spend their days engaging in STEM activities, touring Halifax’s universities and colleges, and connecting with Elders and Indigenous student supports. The experience is rounded out with fun challenges that allow participants to explore the city and envision their future academic journeys.

Kayaking at Ulnooweg's Oceans Camp

For Indigenous youth aged 15-18, Oceans Camp offers an adventure-packed experience exploring the marine environments of Atlantic Canada. Participants dive into STEAM activities through kayaking, snorkelling, and field trips that highlight the rich biodiversity of the Atlantic Ocean. This camp combines fun outdoor activities with Indigenous teachings, helping participants gain a profound understanding of our interconnected world and the importance of marine ecosystems.
