Summer Camps for Indigenous Youth

We offer unique camps that blend STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education with Indigenous teachings. These camps provide Indigenous youth in Atlantic Canada with immersive experiences alongside Elders, Knowledge Keepers, scientists, and industry professionals. They are completely free, with all accommodations, meals, and travel covered.

Prepare for an inspiring and immersive experience tailored for Indigenous youth in grades 10-12 to explore post-secondary life.

At Pathways to Post-Secondary Camp, you’ll stay in residence at Dalhousie University, engage in hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) activities, and visit universities and colleges. Through interactive workshops, city explorations, and meaningful connections with Elders and Indigenous student support networks, you’ll build confidence in navigating your future academic journey.

Spend your summer exploring the land, learning from Elders, and taking on new challenges at Land Camp.

Land Camp is an immersive experience on the land at Asitu’lɨsk. Guided by the principles of Netukulimk (living in harmony with the land) and Etuaptmumk (“Two-Eyed Seeing”), youth take part in hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) workshops, cultural teachings, and leadership challenges that deepen their connection to the land.

Are you an Indigenous youth with a passion for the ocean and adventure?

Through hands-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) activities, cultural teachings, and outdoor exploration, participants will deepen their understanding of the ocean’s vital role in our world. Guided by Elders, knowledge keepers, and marine science experts, you’ll experience the best of both worlds – traditional wisdom and cutting-edge marine science.
