Darrell Hasiuk
Sr. Manager, Finance & Investments

Darrell started with Ulnooweg in 2008 as a project manager and financial analyst specializing in First Nation government finance. He has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry.

With his in-depth knowledge and training in project management from a corporate perspective, Darrell supported the growth of a project to improve Atlantic Canada’s First Nation government’s financing opportunities. Through this, it allowed him to work closely with many First Nation community leaders and build a process for financial analysis and development with the desire to obtain long-term financing options for First Nation governments. This project initiative is now the Community Financial Review program and has been running under Darrell’s leadership.

Darrell has an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Manitoba and has a CPA, Certified Management Accounting designation. He was granted his Certified Aboriginal Financial Management designation in 2010.

Michelle Richard
Managing Director & Financial Analyst

Michelle has been a dedicated staff member of the Ulnooweg Family since 2003 and has served in growing our organization over the years in so many ways. Starting at  Ulnooweg Development Group analyzing historical lending practices in a contracted position, Michelle then moved to a position on the lending team, helping Indigenous entrepreneurs throughout New Brunswick secure loans to start and grow businesses.

In 2009, Michelle moved to the Ulnooweg Education Centre as a Financial Analyst, focusing on the implementation and growth of the Community Financial Review service to help bring it to what it is today.

As of 2020, Michelle has taken on the role of Managing Director of the Ulnooweg Education Centre. She is also deeply involved in leading the Ulnooweg Indigenous Communities Foundation initiative that focuses on empowering youth in Atlantic Canada to create positive, transformational change in the region.

Michelle is a member of We’koqma’q First Nation and has several years’ experience working for a major financial institution in retail branch management, commercial banking, and human resources. She has received her bachelor’s degree from St. Francis Xavier University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Dalhousie University.
